Reviving the 1950's Pinup!

So, for years, I've been raving about reinstating the 1950's pinup. I really wanted to revive her in the most classic and classy of ways. After mastering the classic look, I want to reinvent her, but for now, I'll settle for the classic.

I did this shoot with Amanda Rosa, a local model. She was a joy to shoot with! She was so lively on set, and her and little Jersey got along SO well!

Check out some more pictures after the jump!

Minimal Sandal Update

Man, this is my last time blogging about these shoes, I swear. I'm just so obsessed, and so broke. I want the best deal with the best look. This original Prada ($690) shoe has inspired several looks behind it.

Steve Madden    = $100
Bakers                = $60
Michael Antonio= $25

So, Michael Antonio definitely steals the show with his twenty-five dollar Luelle shoe on sale at 6pm.com
The shoe runs small, so I'll need an 8.

I'm so excited, I love buying new shoes! Once I get them, I'll review them on comfort and stability.

Reunited and it Feels So Good

Gaaaah, I'm excited for this update! I know I said I wouldn't preview and images taken in the new studio, but I really couldn't contain myself with these. Well, maybe it isn't these pictures, it's just how many images I have spilling from my picture folder's seems. It's pretty insane. Today, I was reunited with one of my super favorite models to work with, Stoney Hunnemann. She's so super talented. She's been modeling since we were in high school together.

Her eyes are everything. She looks like she's mixed with the best of like, five races. She's got the fullest lips you'll ever see on a full-blooded white chick. She's fabulous.

I love shooting with her because she requires little to no direction. The most I need to say while we're shooting is, "that was cool, pause with that!"
She helps style, she knows what make-up looks best on her. She can shoot commercial or couture.

I'll start with the technicals on the shoot. These are the make-up charts on the looks. I did the make-up, of course.

The cat-eye look:

FACE
ELF's Flawless Finish foundation Porcelain
Maybelline's FIT concealer Fair Clair 15

ELF 110-color palette Pale Peach
A! Absolute felt tip eyeliner Black

Studio Spaced Out

I've got a little something huge up my sleeve.

First off, let me start by saying I've been more focused these last two weeks than I ever have before. I've worked so hard to start some interesting projects, in hopes of finishing all of them. My creativity's been out of control. I've thought up so many concepts, videos, pictures, make-up schemes, I mean EVERYTHING. It's really heading where I'd like it to.

So, if you follow me on Twitter, you've seen me tweet here and there about my new studio. It's true, for about a week now, I've been diligently working on a new studio space. I'm so excited about the studio advances. There are things in here that make a huge difference already. I did a 7-hour shoot in here, and it was my best yet, undoubtedly. I wanted to take pictures of everything to give the full experience, but most things in here aren't done yet, plus I wanted to wait to put the finished product online. However, I thought I'd give a little glimpse of what's to come, captionless...

Yeah, so that's it. I'm not explaining anything, I just wanted to give a quick preview, but trust that when it's totally complete, it'll be unveiled along with new shots taken in the new studio.

The one thing I'm missing is a logo board. That's not a real thing, so I'll tell you what I mean. I want a big, solid backdrop, or even poster board that I can hang on the studio wall and snap pictures of people in front of it when they roll through. Just to give it a personal touch.

P.S. Any suggestions for my new studio? Leave them in a comment below and help a sista out. Pimpin' ain't easy.

Sunday's Midnight Theories: "Cordes for President"

So, this week's verse is extra special, extra salty. This one's called Cordes 4 President about a close friend of MTown's (and myself) moving away to start bootcamp for the Marines. It's a heartfelt track. It talks about loss, but he has hope for her future. It's basically him saying farewell to a dear friend.

Anyway, our friend's last name is Cordes and she's got her entire political career planned. The middle of it includes her presidency, hence the title.

I think this is beautiful. You probably will too. Take a listen and enjoy. For more music check out fuckaname.com and to give feedback, try @MTownMP.

Currently Listening: "XXYYXX"

This is MTown's latest, "XXYYXX". It's not attached to the Sunday Midnight Theories, it was just a floating freestyle he did and posted. It received pretty nice feedback though. One of my favorite pieces would have to be this one from one of his biggest supporters I've seen thus far:

Listen and enjoy. He made the cover art. Let him know how you feel about this song and any others via @MTownMP, and listen to more of his music at fuckaname.com

P.S. I feel a visual coming on...
