No Dragging, No Drying

Something that's caught my eye on TV lately is this 14-hour Super Stay lipstick by Maybelline. Theoretically, it's supposed to be opaque and consistently gorgeous for 14 hours at a time. They've got all these models in the commercial with this Eternal Rose color. It's like this bright pink craziness. The colors in the collection aren't all that, but fourteen hours of color? I'll settle, I think.

However, before I buy anything, I always check out a few reviews to see if it hold truth. I'll probably do a make-up haul of some capacity sometime this week. I need some new lip colors.
I also want to try some Maybelline foundation. Teyana Taylor raved about it in a make-up tutorial, so I'm sort of interested. I need concealer, too... and some brushes.

BUT, anyway— here are some reviews on the lip color after the jump.

So, what I'm getting from these is:

- Not many colors
- Doesn't last 14 hours
+ Sweet smell
- Fades after about 6 hours
+ Doesn't dry out
- Shimmery shades
+ Stays smooth throughout wear
+ Buildable

Being black, I love a buildable lipstick because a lot of lipsticks (especially drugstore joints) don't provide the color intensity my lips require. I end up attempting to cake on lipstick and it ends up inside my mouth from my rubbing it between my lips.
I HATE shimmer lipsticks. They are for 85 year old women, exclusively. My mouth is really small in proportion to my face, so I need a matte lipstick to maximize my lip size. Not a shimmery satin finish, not anything to be covered by a gloss.
Other than that, the only issue I have with this is the limited array of colors. Who makes a lipstick line to last forever and only gives you 20 colors to choose from, most of which are shimmerfied? AND THEN, has the nerve to only cover pinks, ONE coloral, and nudes for those of fairer skintones?

PLAY ME BETTER, MAYBELLINE.

I'm grabbing one of these from CVS later on, and I'm gonna make an honest review of it. If I hate it, I'm sending Maybelline a strongly worded letter, word is bond.
